PlayStation Playtime

PlayStation does track your hours, and since a 2023 update the PlayStation App will even show you the time played on each game. What it still will not give you is one clean, sortable lifetime total across your whole library. This pulls together what your public activity shows and points you to the exact spots where the real per-game numbers live.

Public game and trophy activity only. Hours played are not public on PlayStation.

The honest version first

Here is the real state of play, because half the guides online are out of date. The PlayStation App now shows hours played per game if you open My Profile and go to Games, a feature players spent years asking for and finally got. But there is still no screen anywhere on PlayStation that adds it all up into a lifetime total you can rank, and the per-game number only counts time you were signed in and online. On top of that, plenty of players on r/playstation note the figure can read low or a little off.

So this tool is upfront: it surfaces your public games and trophy activity as a picture of what you have been playing, and tells you exactly where to read the official per-game hours yourself.

What you can see here

  • Active games. The titles your public activity shows you playing, most active first.
  • Trophy activity. Recent trophies as a proxy for what has actually been getting time.
  • Where the real hours live. A direct pointer to the per-game hours in the PS App and to the annual Wrap-Up for a yearly total.

How to see your real hours

The PlayStation App is now the fastest route to per-game hours, and the once-a-year Wrap-Up is still the only place a true yearly total appears. Some players go further and combine everything using third-party stat sites like Exophase, or a phone app such as PS Trophies that adds up total hours and sessions. Our guide to seeing hours played on PlayStation walks through each option and its limits.

FAQ

Can I see my total lifetime hours on PlayStation? Not as a single official number. The PS App shows hours per game, and the yearly Wrap-Up shows a per-year total, but PlayStation does not publish one lifetime, sortable figure. Third-party stat sites are how people piece it together.

Does the PlayStation App really show hours now? Yes. Open the app, go to My Profile, then Games, and each game lists time played. This was added in a 2023 update, so older guides that say it is impossible are simply out of date.

Why does my playtime look wrong? It only counts online, signed-in time, so offline sessions and very old play can be missing. Community reports on Reddit back this up, with some players seeing totals well under what they actually played.

Can I see someone else's hours? No. Playtime is private on PSN even when a profile and trophies are public.
