Steam Level Calculator
Figure out exactly what it takes to reach the next Steam level, or any level you are aiming for. Enter your current level or profile and this shows the XP needed, roughly how many badges that works out to, and what the whole climb costs in effort.
How Steam levels work
Your Steam level goes up as you earn XP, and most XP comes from crafting badges. Each badge you craft gives 100 XP. The catch is that every 10 levels the amount of XP per level goes up, so the higher you climb, the more badges each level costs.
At the low end a single level might take one badge. Higher up, one level can take five badges or more. That is why big levels represent a serious amount of card collecting, crafting, or spending.

FAQ
Where does XP come from besides badges? Badges are the main source at 100 XP each. Some events and special badges give more, and there are occasional bonuses, but steady leveling comes from crafting badges.
Do trading cards level me up on their own? Not directly. Cards let you craft a badge, and the badge is what grants the XP. So cards are the raw material, badges are the payoff.
Does a higher level do anything? Mostly bragging rights, plus more friend list slots and a better shot at booster packs. It is a status number more than a power boost.
